My Piano Recital

I hate playing in front of people. Acting is one thing, because you can cover up your mistakes by pretending your character stuttered... well maybe... But when your performing music, then you have to hit each note correctly or it will sound weird! Oh, of course they'll understand, but the problem is that WE don't! When we mess up we think "Blast!" but they think "Ho ho! He/she messed up!"

So anyway, yesterday I had my piano recital. I played two pieces, Backstage Pass, and a Bird's Eye View. Waiting for the others to get over with and get to you is the bloody worst part. When they mess up you automatically think your going to do the same thing. So I waited for the others to get over with, then walked to the Piano. I have no idea how I played through the songs but I did. As I expected, I messed up once. Very careless of me. So, the recital ended and we went home feeling very nervous...

Next week I get judged for the same songs.... oh boy....

A few days ago in a State far, far away

A few days ago we were in Spring! All the snow had melted and we had grass on our lawn!!!! We could see the driveway, and the Chickens and Ducks were coming out... but now... it snowed two days later. So now, here we are in snow above our ankles. Snow. Bah! Humbug! If I could work my will, any idiot who goes around wishing a "Let it Snow!" on his lips, would be boiled with his own turkey. Well, maybe not. I'd just maroon 'em in Antarctica!!!! Muahahaha!

More about "Is it I?"

Well, when I was serving in Mass, Kay made the announcement that the "Is it I?" play would be performed again.

The first year, my Dad played Peter and it was a great success. The Church was packed! The second year, my Dad and I were asked to play Peter and James the Lesser. But my Dad, who became nervous before performing the play the year before, refused to do it and I couldn't do it without him (sort of). The play, they say, was not a big success that year. This year, they decided to try again and try to get all the original group of actors. They were able to recruit a few of them, but not my Dad.

Once the announcements were over, I had already thought that I, nor my Dad, were not going to do it (not to mention the auditions were only open to those who were 18+). But, while my parents were talking with friends outside of the Church, my sister, Vicki, approached my and told me that she and Mom and convinced Kay to let me audition for John even though I'm only 16. So, when we asked my Dad, he gave us the OK.

On Thursday, the auditions were smaller than usual auditions. Fortunately for me, James, the person who had played John for a couple of years, was not there. As you can guess, I was thrilled! They had me audition first. I read the parts of John and Andrew. They even said that I might be able to play the part of Jesus! While I was reading the lines of John, James walked in. My exact thoughts were "Nuts." That Sunday, they told my Mom that I was chosen to play John. And my Dad, who they were pushing to play Peter, finally accepted the role of Peter. Unfortunately, we're going to have to miss the first rehearsal because I have a piano recital. So, we shall have to be content to go to all of them, except that one. The rehearsals will go until April 3, I think, and then the first performance will be held in St. James on April 10th. The second will be held on April 17th in St. Peter. After this, our last role is to have our feet washed on Holy Thursday. So will the play "Is it I?" end. I can't wait!!!!

I did it

Yes, I auditioned. They had me recite the lines of Andrew and John. They also told me not to shave or cut my hair unless I don't get either of the part. I may be too young to get the part, but they're going to let me know soon.

The auditions are tonight!!

Their tonight! Well, I'm going to be auditioning after all! As I don't know how many people are going to be there, I don't know how competitive I need to be! Their could be fifteen people all auditioning for John!!! Well, anyway, I hope everyone acts as best as they can... and I win!!! Hahaha!!! Also, my Dad will not be playing Peter after all, he was the best one they've ever had, so I will be auditioning alone. Vive la acting (or however you say that in French)!

The Auditions

Our parish, each year, performs a play on the Last Supper titled, "Is it I?" It takes place when Jesus reveals that one of the apostles will betray him that night. Each of them freezes at the table in the postition Leonardo De Vinci painted them in. One apostle after the other rises and begins to tell his story of when he met Jesus and questions whether he is the one. He then goes back to his position at the table. This year, the auditions are only for guys 18+ but, they're making an exeption for me. My parents are pretty sure I'll be auditioning, but want to talk it over a little bit more. But if I do, I'll be auditioning for the apostle, John. This thursday the auditions begin. Wahoo!

The Movie Night

The movie night was awesome!!! First, we all got into their three cars (a black truck, a red truck, and a camo jeep) and drove through different courses! The red truck had a plow on it so it was easy to go through the snow. Once we were done, we went inside and ate. After eating, we decided to start playing wii. We had two games, WWII flying aces, and Cabelas hunting. We played a couple of rounds, then we ate some food. Then we played, and ate some food. Then we ate, and played some food. Or words to that effect. Once we had finished, we turned on Lord of the Rings. We had gone up to Rivendel when their computer, which was connected to the proj-ector, died. We decided not to watch it on the TV because we'd have to plug it in. SO we played wii on the TV connected to the wii box. I was shot down twice. So much for a flying ace... But I'm still the first of the Aces!!!!! And I won another flying cross!!!! Once we had flown about fifty missions and dogfights, we went to the Cabelas hunting! Wahoooo! Our favorite round was the bear hunting. It's more of a survival hunt. Bears come running towards you slowly at first, but then they start coming four at a time! Thank goodness, you get a semi auto rifle. You have five shots, and we discovered that the only way to shoot, is full-magazinianism. Don't even try to pronouce it. It's when you fire all five shots, the full mag, at each bear. I was able to shoot forty bears!!! Muahahahaha! We did that for the rest of the night and, finally, at 3:20 at night, we decided it was time for bed. We travelled the trail up the stairs and went to sleep in the boys room.

The next morning we woke up and went downstairs for a breakfast of pigs in a blanket and scrambled eggs. When we had eaten our fill, we went to the dining room and played a game of card golf. I won!!!!! Once my dad arrived topick us up, he stopped to talk to them. While he did, we went outside for some more driving. This time, the jeep got stuck. All of our pushing couldn't pull that jeep out. S it was time... for the truck.... Josh, the oldest of our hosts, backed up his truck to the jeep and hooked a chord around the bumper. Out the jeep came! Then, it was time to go. We packed up all our stuff and drove home. When all is said and done, it was a succesful movie night... and day after...

The First of the Aces

I am the first of the aces!!!!! For Christmas we boys got a wii game of "WWII aces." When we got it, we decided not to read the instructions and just to jump into it. We started first, to try to get off the ground, (I had the first lift off!!!) then we started to learn how to fly, then, it was time to shoot. We were having trouble trying to find the right way to fire originally, but that was fixed really quick. Finally, we were flying in circles and flipping, and dodging from planes, but we weren't able to shoot one down. The Messerschmidt is a little difficult to hit. When it was my turn to fly again, I was flying over England on a Spitfire.

There it is! Flying across in front of me. I'm comin' up on his tale... FIRE.... miss... he's com in' across my propeller again... FIRE... miss... wait! He's on my tale now! Scramble! Scramble! Code Red! Here I go! Flip! I'm in the air... turning a loop the loop... now! Let him have it!!!! Got him!

Yes! I got the first plane! From this, I am now able to take down at least twenty planes at a time. From this, I became the first of the Aces!!!! AND not to mention the Flying Cross! So now I am a flying ace. I feel very privileged. Hahaha!

Of Sledding and snowball fights

Yeserday we went to our good friend's houseto sled for the day. In the family of our guests there was Caleb, Anna, Emily, Abby, and Betsy (but not exactly in that order). While I went down the hill on my sled, I noticed my brother Gabriel throwing snow balls at Betsy and Abby (they were having fun throwing them back at Gabriel). Since I knew there was supposed to be a snow ball fight while we were there, I saw the opportunity to start it. I ran in to support Abby and Betsy. I stuck my sled into the ground as a barricade and started to throw snow balls. Soon enough, David and Tony came to support Gabriel. I turned to Anna and Emily who were busy sledding, "Reinforcements! Reinforcements!" They also came to our aid along with my sister, Hannah. Seeing that the battle was inevitable, Caleb and Father James, who had just arrived, joined the fight on the opposing side. The battle had begun. I immidiately picked up a sled and began to use it as a catapult as I saw Tony start to do the same. Soon enough, the entire opposing force began to do the same. When one side of ours was flanked, I would charge into them with my catapult and fire. I was soon joined by Anna who helped me clear out the flankers and the chargers. But then Hannah pointed out to us that this was a SNOWBALL fight and not a catapult. So we began to throw snowballs instead. As most of the people started to take timeouts, the only people left on our side was Anna in the center, and myself on the flank. We dropped behind three sleds and fired. It wasn't long before Emily, Betsy, and Abby decided to make snowballs. Hannah came to our aid, so the battle lines were left to myself, Hannah, and Anna. We returned fire as best we could, but were soon outmatched by the larger opposing team. Father and Caleb, especially were knocking out our deffenses. While standing and waiting for an opportunity to fire, Father threw a snowball and hit me in the face. That did it. It was a new war! Father vs. me! When we began to fire I noticed David and Tony stealing our shields. I charged towards them and tackled them to the ground! Muahahaha!

So all in all, the day was very fun and... snowy...

I lost...

Well, my bet lost. Unfourtunately, the Steelers were creamed by the Green Bay Packers. This game was one of those ones which goes to the last seconds. I hope everybody else enjoyed the game! But next year, those Cheese heads are gonna pay! Ah! But what a night! Submarine sandwiches, Chex mix, Veggie dip, salsa, cream cheese, Olives, brownies, vanilla Ice cream! Ah! A very good night after all.

The Battle of North Africa

General Montgomery had his men well places. His tanks were placed along the road, infantry were placed on the flanks along with a bazooka squad at the ready. Then the attack came. Field Marshal Rommel move a panzer column down the road and smashed into Montgomery's infantry on the right flank. When the flank started to weaken, an air attack was deployed and Rommel's center units were weakened. Weakened, he was still invincible. He finally destroyed Montgomery's right flank and began to come down hard on the left; when he had achieved this goal, the left flank was extremely weak, he began to concentrate on the center. Just before he could destroy Montgomery's stronghold, Montgomery was able to send reinforcements. As Rommel endeavored to destroy the reinforcements, Montgomery waited for the right moment and delivered the finishing blow to Rommel's center, split his lines, and forced him to surrender.

My brothers and I have been playing Memoir '44. For those of you who don't know, Memoir is a WWII board game. This time, I was playing the role of Rommel, and Gabriel was playing Montgomery. I was defeated. Utterly. Deplorably. But, secretly, I am mearly giving 'Montgomery' the confidence he needs to attack me again, then I will attack again and win the day!!!! Muahahahaha! Muahahahaha! Muahahahaha!

Blast these headaches!

Today, while doing school, I suddenly was assaulted by a migraine. It starts with cutting our all vision in one and a half eyes. so I was only able to see out of half of my right eye for one hour. Following this, your head feels like an explosion for another three hours. Then, you pray never to get it again. As you can see, I had a normal unusual homeshooling day.

Flyboys Review

I, my brother David, my sister Hannah, and Dad watched the 2004 Flyboys. I would have to rate this movie four stars. One star for the battle sequences, which were, without a doubt, above spectacular! Another star for the acting. The Main character, Rawlings, played his part spectacularly as did The Black Falcon, a german pilot, Cassidy, a flying ace, Skinner, another pilot, and all the other characters. A third star for the script, and a fourth for the editing and screenplay. It lost a star, in my opinion, for lack of exitement. It had it's great moments, but none of them were bang! moments. IT is rated PG-13 for the usual modern war movie stuff. There was one scene which we skipped, but the movie was extraordinary. The ending was a little sad, well not the ending, but what happened after the war which they revealed right before the credits. I would recomend it to anyone who is allowed to watch PG-13 movies. As you can see I have posted the preview (sorry for the quality):

As said, I highly recomend this movie!

Tis still snowing...

It's been snowing since last night. We have ten inches on our deck right now. Boy... Oh boy... Boy oh boy... Our driveway has just been plowed so we have a five foot tall pile of snow at the top of the driveway. THe snow doesn't seem to stop the birds. Their still at the bird feeders. A cardinal keeps coming around. So yesterday I pulled out my sniper rifle to test it on one of the birds, but decided not to. So instead I fired at the bird feeders! So in a few minutes a bird is going to pull out a bb, swallow it, and choke to death!!!!!!!! Muahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Sorry... It's still snowing... boy...

Snow...

We are about to be snowed in. Did you ever have that urge to go jump off the roof into a pile of snow? I don't have it... (POTC4) Bah! Humbug... I don't like snow.True it has it's many advantages, such as having a white grenade at your feet at all times when your outisde... muahahahaha... and other things, but I, for myself prefer to have a sunny day. Well, at least when it's winter I do. Let me see it's... about 15 degrees right now. Fun. Another reason I want summer right now is it makes it so much better for airsoft... hehehe... Well, Gotta run.
